On the trail of something different, I am completely remaking the interior. As part of that, I have re-covered the center dash and console with a suede leather material (Ultrasuede). It softens the interior tones and give it a nice touch with the carbon fiber dash and other pieces. This material will stand the direct sun light without fading and resist staining better then real leather. Also, the area covering the air bag has been perforated on the seam to maintain safety in the event that the air deploys. In addition to the carbon dash, you will also note the flat panel display that I am using in this install.

Steering Wheel
Have you ever wanted that new car steering wheel feel and smell or just wanted to upgrade to that nice perforated leather steering wheel that you saw in a new 9-3 Viggen. Well, now you too can have that same experience without having to upgrade your steering column to fit the later model steering wheel. I sent my original wheel out and had it recovered and the results are great. It looks much better and feels great!

Dead Pedal
In an effort to further customize the interior, I worked up this billet dead pedal that adds a little to the interior.

Gauge Pod/Gauges
Since I wanted to go with a full set of 3 gauges, I developed this A-pillar gauge pod to hold my set of sPA dual readout digital gauges - Boost/EGT, Oil Pressure/Oil Temp, Fuel Pressure/Voltage. Now that the original is completed, I will take a mold of it and recreate it with carbon fiber.

Sound Deadening Material
To maximize the performance of the soon to be installed stereo system and to limit road noise, I covered the interior surfaces with a sound deadening material called Brown Bread from a company named B-Quiet. As you can see, most the the interior surfaces and the roof were pretty well covered. While the purist performance folks frown on adding any weight, I just had to take a different direction here and add more HPs to compensate for the weight.

Here are the beginning of the rear components being installed. You can see the remote battery box installed, rear shock brace, and CO2 bottle placed for positioning.

You will notice that the rear brace is now polished and I fab'd up some support beams for the CO2 bottle. The wiring for the remote battery is now complete along with kill switch and custom bracket. Dropped a nice clean ground into the back of the car also.

Sub woofer Install
OK, finished up the install of the rear subs, amps, cross brace, CO2 bottle/braces, and battery boxes and yes this took about 4 times as long as I had originally planned. I decided that with the eventual upgrade to 330mm brake rotors in the front, the spare was pretty much useless. So, out it went! I then made a custom woofer box that has a valley down the center for the braces holding the C02 bottle and is slightly cambered to the outside. To accomplish this and make a sealed woofer box, I first made a fiber glass mold of the spare tire well and sealed it the the MDF top portion with expanding foam and resin. I also sprayed the fiber glass portion with underbody coating to prevent andy unwanted sounds. Then the finished box was covered with trunk felt and maneuvered into position as you see below. Also, part of this was making sure all the wires that needed to be run to the rear were in before the box was placed in its final position.
