Suspension

Koni / Eibach suspension - Here I have installed Eibach springs from Nordic and Koni adjustable shocks. Dave at SPG9 powder coated the old housing for me and inserted the front Koni strut inserts into the old housings. You can see the bolt used to pull in the Koni struts. As you can see, the Eibach springs lowered my car about another 1/2 to 3/4 inches. Since my car is an Aero, it was lower than the standard 9000 already. The springs and Konis are real nice and have tightened-up the ride with very little body sway.

You can see the big difference in size from the stock sway bar and the new SAS sway bar. The SAS bar really keeps the car flat in the corners. Mounting the new bar was kinda like a Chinese puzzle and I don't think I would have tried this if the engine was not already out. I don't mean to say that it cannot be done with the engine in, just that the level of difficulty would increase.

Here is a good shot of the rear suspension with the Koni's, Eibach springs, braided steel brake lines, and SAS rear sway bars.

This compares the stock springs (rear on the left and front on the right). You can see that the Eibach springs are shorter that the stock units. The rear is progressive and the front is straight. While the ride has firmed up significantly, I would not characterize it as harsh. The Koni's adjustment enable you to move to full lock-down on track days, but comfortable for everyday driving.
