This car is
a fully-equiped 5 speed 9000 Turbo with
the high performance Aero package and without
traction control. I can remember the first
modification that I made to the car - a cold
air intake K&N
filter. I had high hopes for this simple
modification, but unfortunately it did not
yield the improvements that I had hoped
for. However, it did launch me in a direction
that I continue today.
Soon after the air filter, I installed an
Abbott ECU, Abbott high flow intercooler,
and Swedish Dynamics (Fox) stainless cat-back
exhaust system. Equipped with these modest
changes, I set off for a day of performance
driving as Sears Point Raceway with Russell
Racing. I had a great day of fun and the car
performed well in an essentially stock form
pacing and passing two other BMW's in my grouping
(330ci and older M3 convertible). However,
I quickly realized that my brakes and suspension
were not up to the task as the brakes began
to overheat and the suspension was too sloppy.
Given the car's performance this day at the
track, I set out to build a car that would
take on the best of them. I think that you
will find as you peruse this Web site, the
car is very impressive now. |
